IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agustin Cisneros
Munoz
May 10, 1936 – August 31, 2024
Agustin Cisneros Muñoz, a beacon of unwavering faith and love passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Lamont, California. He was 88 years old. Agustin passed in the comfort of his home, surrounded by members of his family, and holding fast to the Holy Scriptures. He was born on May 10, 1936, to Sanjuana Cisneros Muñoz and Sixto Escalante Muñoz, in Cadereyta Jiménez, N.L., Mexico. As a God-fearing man, Agustin was highly principled and maintained strong convictions. Agustin was a man of few words; however, his generosity cannot be overstated. He left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Agustin's life was rich in love and devotion for family which is evident in the 53-year union with his wife Olivia De La Rosa. Agustin and Olivia were blessed with five children: stepdaughter Elda M. Velez of California; their son Agustin C. Muñoz and wife, Iris, of New Mexico; daughter Virginia S. Muñoz of Florida; daughter Rosalinda F. Muñoz of California; daughter Marlene S. Harris and husband, Brandon, of California. He was a loving brother to Enriqueta, Reynaldo, Fortunato, Ramiro, Carmela, Maria-Luisa, Martín, and José. Agustin's legacy is fortified through the lives of his eight grandchildren: Shea E. Velez-Westphal, Zachary Q. Velez-Westphal, Kasey S. Muñoz, Soren A. Muñoz, Nia A. Humber, Aliah O. Humber, Alissa V. Humber, and Sadie M. Muñoz-Britto.
Agustin's upbringing in the rural, agricultural community of Cadereyta Jiménez helped shaped his lifelong commitment to family, farming, and faith. He loved the outdoors, open spaces, and fresh air. Those who knew Agustin would frequently find him tending to his garden. Members of the Lamont community habitually frequented his ranch to buy fruits, garden vegetables, plants, and trees. Agustin read the Holy Bible daily and attended weekly worship services.
Agustin lived a full life - 88 years lined with love and joy. Agustin – the husband, brother, father and grandfather – instilled a strong work ethic in his family, coupled with love for the Lord. Albeit his dry sense of humor, quick wit, or the occasional storytelling session, there are so many memories that fill the hearts and minds of those he loved, and who loved him. Our family takes comfort in knowing that his spirit will be remembered by the many lives he touched.
