Obituary

Agnes May Cotter (Nonie) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Agnes was born on Sunday June 5, 1921 on a small farm in the Ozarks, about 3 miles east of Bakersfield, Missouri. When Agnes turned a year old, her parents bought a farm 200 something acres where she lived until she was 14 years old. Agnes was married in 1938 and moved to Wasco, California a few years later, where she and her husband resided and raised a family. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Janice Tackett and husband Bob; sons, Howard Cotter and wife Sharon and Gary Cotter and wife Doreen; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters, Mary Azalie Reilly and Patsy Sue Oliva. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Nero Howard and Myrtle May Howard; husband, Elvis King Cotter; daughter, Alma LuAnn Cotter; sisters, Lola Jane Howard and Pamela Ann LaRocca; and brothers, Ernest Joshua Howard and Joe Pete Howard. Agnes (Nonie) is truly a testament from God. A prophet, a mentor, a disciple sent from Jesus. I believe heaven praised and celebrated when my Nonie walked through those pearly gates to sit at the right hand of our Lord Jesus Christ. My grandmother, my mentor, we will miss you so. I love you forever and until we meet again. I know you are up in heaven giving God praise, singing songs of Joy, feeling no hurt or no pain. We can remember her and only that she is gone or we can cherish her memory and let it live on. We love you! Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 10AM at Wasco Memorial Park with her grandson, Devin Tackett officiating and interment will follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 from 2 PM to 8 PM.
