Obituary

Adolph Victor Kotrla passed away peacefully on January 5, 2015. Vic was born to John and Terezie Kotrla on February 27, 1920 in Granger, Texas. He is preceded in death by six brothers and sisters (August, Millie, Vlasta, Ruth, Ann, and Henry). After a childhood on the farm, he went to business & trade school and then joined the Army, where he served during WW II in the Philippines. He married Trudy Kutynak on February 18, 1949 and became a dealer and operator for the Exxon Service station located on Hillcrest off of Northwest Highway. He faithfully served his customers at this location for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Trudy, his three children; Gary Kotrla and wife Roxana of Plano, Texas; Mike Kotrla and wife Kimberly of Shafter, California; and Kaye Keliher and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas. He is, also, survived by five grandchildren; Hallie Metzler, Justin Kotrla, Abbie Lynch, Wade Kotrla, and Andrew Kotrla and four great-grandchildren; Emma, Jaxon, Zoey, and Ella. Vic loved to work, hunt, fish, watch baseball and football, drink ice-cold beer, barbeque, and chew on his favorite cigar. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Congregational Bible Church in Shafter, California. He will then return home to Dallas, Texas for a burial service on Wednesday, January 14th at 11:30 am at Restland Memorial Park.
