Adolfo Ortiz De La Rosa was born October 13, 1944 in Austin, Texas to Joe and Maria (Ortiz) De La Rosa. The family moved to Lamont and Adolfo resided there all his life. Adolfo enjoyed his travels which took him to many different areas of the United States, including New York, Miami, Florida, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Colorado, South Carolina and Louisiana. He also loved his nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, especially his favorite nephew, Artie Sanchez. Adolfo was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Maria De La Rosa; brothers, Raul De La Rosa and Alfredo De La Rosa; sisters, Eva De La Rosa Pena and Alicia De La Rosa. He is survived by his brothers, Joe De La Rosa, Jr. and wife Martha, David De La Rosa and wife Lupe and Edward De La Rosa and wife Epi; sisters, Celia Sanchez and husband Gilbert, Ofelia Macias and husband Pete, Olivia Munoz and husband Agustin, Mary Esther Zavala and husband Valdomero, Olga De La Rosa and Rosalie De La Rosa; and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members. A funeral service under the direction of Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary will be held in the Outdoor Chapel at South Kern Cemetery, Arvin on Friday, March 20, at 10am for Adolfo De La Rosa, age 64, of Lamont who passed away on March 17, in Bakersfield.
